BROADWAY PROJECT: February -Venus in Fur

For the second month of Curtain Up's Broadway Project, I couldn't wait to make cookies for
Venus in Fur.

Starring Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy, the show just transfered from Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway house
to commercial Broadway theater for an extended run.

"Inspired by the infamous erotic novel of the same name. Behind the scenes of an audition, a man and a woman blur the lines between fantasy and reality, seduction and power, love and sex. A crackling exploration of sexual control and desire."

   Hot.
Taking some inspiration from this photo, I thought "Boots!" and "Studded collars!" Naturally.

Thus:
Boots!

Studded Collars!

That shiny silver? LUSTER DUST! This is the first time I've used luster dust.
It's a shimmery powder that, when mixed with an evaporative liquid, becomes a paint that dries onto the icing.
It comes in a variety of colors, and I couldn't wait to try it on these cookies!

I'm good friends with the two stage managers of the show,
so when I dropped off the cookies Winnie and Carlos took me back stage.

And I got to give the cookies to Hugh and Nina. They were so excited!

Word got back to me that the entire company LOVED the cookies.
They even got a special mention in that night's performance report! It was so much fun!

Lots of exciting stuff coming up in March! Broadway Project continues, and much, much more! Stay tuned!
