Gettin' Crafty: Make Your Own COOKIE CUTTERS!

Being a custom cookie company, there are many times when I don't have a cookie cutter for the shape I need. My previous method involved printing out the shape on card stock and cutting out each individual cookie from the dough.

Needless to say, this wasn't working for me. It worked well, but took FOREVER.

So, I did some snooping on the world wide web and came across a variety of ways to
MAKE YOUR OWN COOKIE CUTTERS!

I wanted to make knee-high boots for Venus in Fur, but the only cookie cutter I found that I liked was $13 and wouldn't ship in time for me to make the cookies, so it was time to test this out.

SUPPLIES:
- A print-out of your cutter shape
- Various cylindrical objects to shape the cutter
- 1 Soda Can (You can also use an aluminum tray)

1. Cut the top and bottom off of the soda can and cut the body of the soda can horizontally into 1" wide strips.

2. Line up the strip with the image you are using and bend the metal to the shape.

3. Paperclip the pieces of the cutter to keep it together.

4. Use them!

Works like a charm. You make have to dismantle them to clean up, but you can us them over and over again, so don't throw them out! You never know when you'll need that shape again!
