About

Curtain Up Cookie Design was founded in 2010 by Catherine Lynch, a stage manager and cookie decorator in New York City.

Catherine grew up decorating cookies with her father every Christmas. Stemming from this tradition, when Catherine began to work in the theater she started creating cookies themed to the shows she worked on. The days leading up to Opening Night being packed with rehearsals and preparation, Catherine created a tradition of making cookies for the Closing Night of her shows, to celebrate the accomplishments of the company and send everyone out on a sweet note.

With her dreams of a "Broadway Bakery," Catherine hopes that her company eventually becomes the go-to treat maker for Broadway events and Opening Nights. In the Fall of 2010, Catherine got one step closer to her goal when she worked on her first Broadway show, A Life in the Theatre, and was able to make her first batch of cookies for Broadway! And throughout 2012 she made a batch of cookies for one Broadway show every month for her BROADWAY PROJECT!

Catherine has worked on Broadway: The Assembled Parties, The Other Place, An Enemy of the People, A Life in the Theatre, and Off: Dinner with Friends, The Dream of the Burning Boy (Roundabout Theatre Company), Choir Boy (Manhattan Theatre Club), White Christmas: The Musical (Paper Mill Playhouse), Unnatural Acts (Classic Stage Company), , Chimichangas and Zoloft, Gabriel, Ages of the Moon, Keep Your Pantheon (Atlantic Theater Company), Love's Labor's Lost (Public Theater), Herman Kline's Midlife Crisis (At Play) and with Florence International Theater Co. in Florence, Italy.
